A true "working" position for someone with a passion for horse work & solid horse work experience. You MUST have much more than "Summer Camp" horse experience. If not, please do not apply.
You must have a true "passion" for working with horses, not just looking for a job.
Where: Private, Modest Well-Kept Facility, Quiet, Secluded - Low-Key. 40 Acre Horse Rehab & Training Farm near Middleburg, VA. 18 Stalls - 10 Paddocks - Round Pen - Outdoor Ring.
Position: Barn Assistant & Groom handling the normal day-to-day activities in a full, busy barn. You do what needs to be done without being micro-managed.
You're a Self-Starter & Committed - Physically fit - Have good horse experience.
Can live on-site quietly and alone, no pets, no smoking, absolutely no recreational drugs, has own car/truck. Must be 18+, no exceptions. References a plus. Need at least a one year commitment.
Compensation: Compensation is weekly Salary & Free Private Housing in Private, 2-Level Fully-Furnished Barn Apartment, Housing is worth $1,600/Mo.
One Week paid Vacation and seven days paid Sick Leave per year.
Excellent learning experience w/ respected Horse Rehab Practitioner, referred by Vets & a breeder and trainer of world-class competitive Warmbloods.
Bonus Comp could be riding, horse schooling/lessons w/ our FEI Trainer, worth several hundred/month. Thinking of a future as a Vet or serious about your own barn business someday? THIS is experience you NEED. Two of our former employees have gone on to very successful Vet careers.
We need a responsible, honest, trustworthy, dedicated person that knows her way around the horses and barn & can be trusted to handle it while we're off the farm.
